For approximately 24 hours after your wax your pores will still be open, so it is important to follow this advice to avoid irritation;
-Avoid heat (such as hot baths and showers, saunas and steams, UV exposure) and friction (such as tight clothing, exercise).
-Avoid applying products to the area such as deodorant, perfumed products, lotions, exfoliants, etc.
-Only use very mild unperfumed soaps, shower gels and cleansers
Longer term, to avoid unpleasant aftereffects such as ingrown hair, it is important to follow aftercare advice;
-Moisturise daily. Ingrown hair can be caused by dry or flaky skin.
-Exfoliate twice a week, starting a few days after your appointment. Do not exfoliate more often than this unless you are advised to, as over-exfoliation can also lead to ingrown hairs.
-Products containing antiseptic ingredients such as tea tree oil or witch hazel are particularly useful.
Do not expose your brows to water, steam or extreme heat for 24 hours after the treatment.
Use a brow serum daily to moisturise the brows and skin.
Brush your brows when they are wet to help them keep their shape.
Do not expose your lashes to water, steam or extreme heat for 24 hours after the treatment. After this, use gentle products and remove make-up gently. Brush through your lashes daily.
For best results use a lash serum daily to moisturise your lashes.
Use cuticle oil daily to moisturise your skin. This not only helps your nails last, but will help you to avoid picking or biting your skin.
Try to avoid picking or biting you nails or the skin around your nails (but don't go into a shame spiral if you do!) If you are prone to biting or picking, you may find a fidget ring is helpful.
Do not use your nails as tools. Using your nails to open cans or bottles, type, etc, will put strain on them and make it more likely that they will chip or break.
If you have a semi-permanent enhancement on your nails always wear gloves when cleaning or submerging your hands under water.
If you sustain any damage to your nails it is best to book in for a nail repair (in the first two days after a treatment these are free, should you need it!)
Application
-Gently and slowly push back your cuticles with the wooden stick, taking care not to push too hard.
-Buff your nail with the sponge buffer to remove the shine from your nail.
-Wipe your nail with the alcohol wipe.
-Find the correct size of glue tab; it should be slightly smaller than your nail.
-Remove the glue tab from the backing and apply it to your nail, close to the cuticle but not touching it.
-Heat the glue tab with a hairdryer for 10 -15 seconds, then press it down with your finger all over.
-Remove the plastic from the front of the glue tab, then apply the press-on. First, place the base of the nail at your cuticle, then bring it down so it covers the whole nail. Press down on the nail for 10-20 seconds.
-Avoid getting your nails wet for 2-3 hours after application.
Removal
-Fill a bowl with warm water and oil.
-Soak your nails for 10-15 minutes.
-Gently use the wooden stick to peel up the side of the nail. If there is resistance, soak your nails for longer.
-If there is glue residue on your nails or the press-on, you can use the sponge buffer or an alcohol wipe to remove this.
Care
-When wearing the nails, do not use acetone, nail polish remover, or chemicals without wearing protective gloves.
-Always wear gloves when cleaning, gardening, etc when you are wearing the nails.
-To clean the nails, use isopropyl alcohol or soapy water (do not clean the nails with acetone or nail polish remover).
-Do not use force when cleaning the nails.
-Store the nails in a clean, dry place.
Massage has a physiological effect on the body, so it is important to follow aftercare in order to get the best results from your treatment.
For the first 24 hours after a massage it is important to avoid strenuous exercise and get enough rest to allow the body to properly recover. It is normal to sometimes have some muscle pain during this period, and you may find a warm bath or shower will help with this.
Hydrating you body during this period will aid in flushing out the toxins released during massage. A massage will stimulate the lymphatic system, promoting lymphatic drainage, so it is normal to urinate more frequently in the day following a massage, so please stay well hydrated and avoid stimulants (such as caffeine or alcohol) during this time.
